Infertility is a condition of the reproductive system which impairs the ability to conceive. This condition prevails in both men and women. For a woman it’s the inability to conceive a baby while for a man it’s the inability to impregnate.

Infertility is a common problem among couples all around the world. According to statistics of the Department of Health and Human Service, USA, 10%-15% of couples in the US are infertile. A couple will be identified as infertile when 12 months of regular intercourse without the use of contraception has failed to conceive a baby. Before engaging in an infertility cure treatment, a couple or an individual is expected to face a number of tests to identify the exact cause. For men tests such as general physical exams, semen analysis, blood tests, ultra sound tests and Chlamydia tests will be carried out. For woman specific tests such as Hysterosalpingography, Laparoscopy, Genetic testing, Thyroid function test etc. will be carried out.

However for a woman the treatment options will vary. Options include prescribed drugs such as Clomifene, Metformin, Bromocriptine etc and surgical procedures such as Fallopian tube surgery; Laparoscopic surgery etc. can be performed.
